SDHC

Geht SDHC nun oder nicht? [22:13:05] <sanderbeier> also mit der "one kernel" hat er auch meine "takeMS" HCSD gelesen! vs. Aussage von Mattz. --Helmar Wodtke 14:16, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

The driver source code from one.de says in ReadMe.htm: "This release revision supports SD, MMC, it also support SDHC". So it might work, I haven't tested it yet, though. --Uwe Hermann 14:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I could imagine Mattz tested with the pre-installed Ubuntu. With the pre-installed Ubuntu the card reader did not work at all for me. It worked with Sidux and the kernel from One. --Helmar Wodtke 14:49, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I tested a SanDisk Extreme III (4GB SDHC) on Windows XP using the latest VIA-Drivers. It would not be recognized. Additionally, I found this report on the incident: http://www.eee-pc.de/2008/05/31/leserreview-one-a110/#more-1260 => "... Zusätzlich bietet er einen SD Slot, leider wird SDHC nicht unterstützt. ..." --Mattz 14:31, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Replacing the SSD?

Another topic: where's the ssd and how can i replace it with a bigger one? In the docu of disassembly i cannot see anything that looks like an ssd. And by the way, is it really necessary dass Deutsche auf Englisch miteinander kommunizieren, in einem Wiki welches einen nur in Deutschland vertriebenen Mini-PC zum Thema hat?? 7zoll. --7inch 19:08, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

You can not replace the SSD with a bigger one since it is soldered as reported by people that opened the A110. The talk in english may help other people that buy an IL1-oriented design somewhere else in the world. It is really a problem to get informations for other similar designs. They are all advertised with "Linux working" or "all Linux-distros will work" but we do have problems to get informations - eg. about the X11 configuration of an real existing device. So I think the "common language" is not a bad choice at the moment. Well, not easy to switch sometimes. You may come to the IRC channel - there we talk in german usually. --Helmar Wodtke 18:06, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
ok, thank you for the information! I thought it would be possible to change the ssd because the il-1's got (as far as i know) a 'classic' hard disk which should be replaceable, for it has a standard ide-interface. i was asking, because i planned to install xp on that device. now i will try to reduce xp to a minimum size of maybe 1gig. hope that will work. experiences in that, anyone? --7inch 20:51, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

XP Professional as Mobile Version runs perfect with the Drivers from the ONE-HP. Did add a 4GB-SD-Card and PortableApps on it, to operate ABIWord, Thunderbird and Firefox. Please consult the ASUS HP for Knowledge of "How 2Install XP". If U do so, then U have 0,8 GB FREE on the 2-GB-SSD and 2,8 GB FREE on the SD-CARD. --HFS 08:41, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Pictures from inside the Display unit

I will add later. They are ready, but still have not the time to work on them. --Sven 14:20, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Question about the mainboard

A110-3 edited.JPG

Can anybody tell me what the second connector on the mainboard is good for? I uploaded an edited version of one of the mainboard pictures.

I MSPainted a light blue square on it which indicates the two connectors (right part of the picture), the right one is the speakers plug, but what is the left one for? Any idea? It's a five wire connector I think... --Klapskalli 13:22, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

There is where the webcam of A120/A150 and Airis Kira are connected. Somebody said the webcam is shown as an USB device and it is likely that this connector is an USB interface --El.x.Jtr0 09:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for that hint. This might be the best try for anyone who wants to put an USB hub into the a110. Way better than soldering right on the external USB ports...<br /> Does anybody know if it's a standard plug and where to buy it? I'd like to try to figure out the voltages on that connector and build me a cable for an internal USB hub --Klapskalli 07:27, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

SSD size

Surprise, surprise! Or what? Using 'Anwendungen/Zubehör/Festplattenbelegung analysieren'makes me wonder a little bit, because the A110 tells me he's got 5.4GB of disc space... Is that normal or do i have a 'special ONE'? --7inch 16:37, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Try df -h on the console, or cfdisk /dev/hdc which should tell you the correct size. What you're likely seeing is some number where the squashfs/unionfs crap is also taken into account. --Uwe Hermann 15:37, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Card Reader

Hi,

If my card reader is a memory stick, my system don't recognize it. Anybody knows why?

tks

battery

My A115 came with a 3600 mAh battery, so the runtime is about 1:30 h. Where to buy a bigger battery in germany?
