>* Ich habe jetzt mit UnionFS mein System (vorinstalliertes Ubuntu 8.04) auf den neusten Stand gebracht. Mein jetziger Kernel ist 2.6.24-18-generic. Die ganzen Patches beziehen sich jedoch auf 2.6.25. Muß man auf 2.6.25 wechseln oder kann man den Cardreader auch mit dem aktuellen stable-Kernel zum Laufen bringen? --Florian 10:03, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

    • The patches should also work against 2.6.24, I think. I'd try the standalone-module first (see SD) as it doesn't require you to build a full kernel, only the module itself (untested by me though). --Uwe Hermann 10:22, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
      • They work like a charm against 2.6.24. --Mryoung 17:26, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
  • while you compile sd-carddriver - how about the modem sources ? do they build ? possible to post a binary for preinstalled ubuntu ?
    • They compiled for me, but they seem to use some obsolete symbols so the driver builds but doesn't work for 2.6.25. It don't know if the driver is working with a Linux kernel version 2.6.21.0-22, this is what the README suggests.
  • The sd-card modules seem to have a problem when using hibernate. Sometimes after hibernating, the cards are not recognized. Re-loading the module after hibernate fixed it for me.
  • The SD card reader doesn't seem to work always, despite the newly installed Ubuntu 8.04 (2.6.24) and all patches... I'm still getting a "mmc0: error -110 whilst initialising SD card", no matter what card I use or how it is formatted.
  • The mainline 2.6.31 and later is the way to go. For me all problems are solved - fast, no lockups. See main article for data.
